My mother, Lorraine Sian, died in February of 2012. She taught me to cook, to sew, to garden and to love. She had many more skills but those were all I could handle.
Mom was a fabulous cook. She tried to share all her recipes with us. In her memory I am attempting to put those recipes in one place where her extended family can find them.
Many of the recipes require a little interpretation. Mom learned to cook when there were no cookbooks and the older generation gave directions such as “once around the pot” in all seriousness. For the recipes that I use I have tried to add the extra directions. For recipes like “Pistachio Cake” which I have never understood the need to eat, you will just have to work out the missing details on your own.
Thanks Mom for all your guidance.
