Old Fashioned Custard Pie

Beat slightly 3 large eggs (or 6 egg yolks)

Then beat in 1/2 cup sugar
½ tsp. salt
¼ tsp. nutmeg, if desired
1 tsp. vanilla
2 2/3 cups milk
Pour into pastry-lined pie pan.

Bake 40 min. Oven 450° first 15 min moderate oven 350° to finish
