Veal Stew

This is probably more commonly known as veal paprika. I always loved when my mother made this. She typed this recipe up for us but forgot to include the paprika, I am surprised it listed onions since it was just understood that onions went in everything!

1 lb. Veal stew cubes
2 onions, sliced
Tomato juice
Paprika, lots (yes, that’s a technical term for about 1 – 2 teaspoons, more if necessary)
Flour for dredging
Sour Cream

Dredge veal cubes in flour, shaking off excess flour. Saute onions in butter and a lot of paprika until soft. Remove from pan. Add Veal and brown well. Return the onions to the pan, add tomato juice and water almost to cover. Cook until veal is tender (In pressure cooker 20 minutes).

Thicken with flour. Add sour cream off heat before serving.

Serve with dumplings.
