Clam Chowder – New England Style

This is another set of guidelines more than a recipe. This is mostly how I got my mom to give me the recipes, I just wrote down what she said.

Slice potatoes and boil, don’t drain all the water off.

In a big pot (depending on how much soup you are making) saute onion in a lot of butter

Add 1 can (Doxie) clams and 1 can chowder clams
Add 1 bottle of clam juice
Add the potatoes and some of the cooking water
Salt & Black pepper and more water if you didn’t save enough
Let mixture warm. Before serving add about 1 cup of milk (or half and half)
